​Size-Driven Applications​​:

​100–300 mm​​: Used in small-scale applications like laboratory furnaces, pilot EAFs, or LF auxiliary heating, where lower power (10–30 kA) and space constraints dominate.

​300–500 mm​​: Standard for mid-sized EAFs (50–150 tons), supporting 30–80 kA and balancing cost with throughput.

​500–750 mm​​: Critical for large EAFs (150–300 tons), where they handle 80–120 kA currents to melt 200+ tons of scrap per heat, optimizing tap-to-tap times.
