Manufacturing Process of 450mm Graphite Electrode

 

Ingredients: Mix high-purity graphite powder, binder, conductive agent and other raw materials in a certain proportion.

 

Kneading: Put the mixed raw materials into a kneading machine, add an appropriate amount of water, and knead into a uniform slurry.

 

Molding: Put the kneaded slurry into a mold and press it into shape.

 

Calcination: Put the formed graphite blank into a roasting furnace and roast it at a certain temperature for a certain time to improve its strength and conductivity.

450mm Graphite Electrode Usage Requirements
 

Moist graphite electrodes should be dried before use.

 

Remove the foam plastic protective cap on the spare graphite electrode hole and check whether the inner thread of the electrode hole is intact.

 

Use compressed air without oil and water to clean the surface and the threads in the hole of the spare graphite electrode; avoid cleaning with steel wire balls or metal brushes and sandpaper.

 

Carefully screw the joint into the electrode hole at one end of the spare graphite electrode (it is not recommended to directly install the joint into the electrode removed from the furnace), and do not collide with the threads.

 

Screw the electrode hanger (it is recommended to use a hanger made of graphite) into the electrode hole at the other end of the spare electrode.

 

When lifting the electrode, place soft objects under one end of the spare electrode joint to prevent the ground from damaging the joint; lift it with a hook inserted into the lifting ring of the hanger.

 

When lowering the electrode, do not do it too hard, otherwise the electrode hole and the thread of the joint will be damaged due to violent collision.

 

Use a torque wrench to tighten the spare electrode until the end faces of the two electrodes are in close contact (the correct connection gap between the electrode and the joint is less than 0.05mm).
