The electric arc furnace (EAF) process is one of the most widely used steelmaking methods in the steelmaking industry. Selecting the right graphite electrode is crucial to this process. RP (regular power) graphite electrodes are popular due to their affordability and suitability for medium-power furnace operation.

When selecting ZhenAn's RP graphite electrodes, there are several important factors to consider. First, the electrode diameter should be compatible with the specific furnace type and production requirements. Second, the electrode grade. RP graphite electrodes are typically classified into four grades based on their resistivity and flexural strength. The appropriate grade should be selected based on the specific requirements of the furnace operation.

ZhenAn Graphite Electrode Surface Quality Standards
1. The graphite electrode surface must contain no more than two defects or holes, and the size of the defects or holes must not exceed the values specified in the table below.

2. The electrode surface must be free of transverse cracks. Longitudinal cracks must not exceed 5% of the graphite electrode's circumference and should be within a range of 0.3-1.0 mm in width. Longitudinal cracks smaller than 0.3 mm are negligible.

3. The width of the rough spot (black) area on the graphite electrode surface must not be less than 1/10 of the electrode's circumference, and the length of the rough spot (black) area must not exceed 1/3 of the electrode's length.
