graphite as electrodes are mainly used in electric furnace steelmaking. What are the specific uses of graphite as electrodes? Ordinary power graphite as electrodes are primarily used in ordinary power electric furnaces for steelmaking, silicon refining, and other refining processes. High-power and ultra-high-power graphite as electrodes are mainly used in high-power and ultra-high-power electric arc furnaces for steelmaking. Outside of steelmaking, graphite as electrodes are also used in LF (ladle furnace) refining. Together, electric arc furnace steelmaking and LF refining account for over 80% of graphite as electrode consumption.
Based on production requirements, it can be calculated that:
1 ton of ordinary power graphite as electrode requires 0.2 tons of petroleum coke aggregate.
1 ton of high-power graphite as electrode requires 0.71 tons of petroleum coke and 0.31 tons of needle coke.
1 ton of ultra-high-power graphite as electrode requires 0.2 tons of needle coke.
