What are the applications of graphite electrodes?

Graphite electrodes are often seen in industrial production and have important applications. They are used in the refining of steel, silicon, yellow phosphorus, and other materials. The existence of graphite electrodes has accelerated industrial development. So how much do you know about Electrodes En Graphite 500mm Dia? What are their applications?

01/

Moist Electrodes En Graphite 500mm Dia should be dried before use.

02/

Remove the foam plastic protective cap from the spare graphite electrode hole and inspect the inner thread of the electrode hole for integrity.

03/

Clean the surface and inner threads of the spare graphite electrode with compressed air that is free of oil and water. Avoid using steel wool, metal brushes, or emery cloth.

04/

Carefully screw the connector into the electrode hole at one end of the spare graphite electrode (it is not recommended to install the connector directly into an electrode removed from the furnace), avoiding any impact with the threads.

05/

Screw the electrode hoist (graphite is recommended) into the electrode hole at the other end of the spare graphite electrode.

06/

When lifting the electrode, place a soft material under the spare electrode connector to prevent it from being damaged by the ground. Lift the electrode by inserting a hook into the hoist's eye. Lift the electrode steadily to prevent it from coming loose at end B or colliding with other mounting devices.

Hoist the spare electrode above the electrode to be connected, align it with the electrode hole, and slowly lower it. Rotate the spare electrode so that the spiral hook rotates and descends with the electrode. When the two electrode ends are 10-20 mm apart, use compressed air again to clean the exposed areas of the electrode ends and the connector. When lowering the electrode completely, be careful not to apply excessive force, as this may damage the threads of the electrode hole and connector due to the impact.

Use a torque wrench to tighten the spare electrode until the ends of the two electrodes are firmly in contact (the gap between the electrode and connector should be less than 0.05 mm for a proper connection).
