Measurement of the particle size of graphite electrode
There are two methods for measuring the particle size of graphite electrode particles below 1 pm: transmission electron microscopy and force-based sedimentation.
The advantage of the transmission electron microscopy method is that in addition to measuring the particle size, it can also understand the shape of the particles. Generally, electron microscopy at 10,000 times is used to measure the frequency distribution of graphite particles.
The measurement equipment for the force-based sedimentation method is an ultracentrifuge. This type of ultracentrifuge measures the particle size of graphite electrodes under a strong centrifugal force equivalent to 10,000 times the force (the centrifugal dehydrator used in the general laboratory has a centrifugal force limit of only 2000 times the force).
