Uses and Performance of Graphite Electrodes
Temperature Dependence of Resistivity:
The resistivity of graphite materials is temperature-dependent. Generally, conductivity is not directly related to density because, according to the resistivity formula, conductivity should depend on the "conductor cross-section." However, due to the presence of voids in graphite products, the effective cross-section for current conduction is reduced. As a result, the resistivity of graphite (the inverse of conductivity) is related to its "volume density."
