Secondly, tungsten carbide has good electrical conductivity. The conductivity of graphite electrodes is low, and frequent ventilation is required during the processing to ensure that discharge sparks are effectively generated on the surface of the workpiece. Tungsten carbide electrodes have high conductivity, which can reduce the number of ventilation times and improve processing speed and precision. In addition, tungsten carbide electrodes have high melting points and thermal stability, and will not deform significantly even if used for a long time at high temperatures. This is especially important when processing hard materials because the electrodes are exposed to high temperatures and high pressures during EDM. The melting point of graphite electrodes is low, so long-term high temperature exposure will cause the electrodes to deform and melt, thereby reducing the processing quality and efficiency.
